PROCESS LINE EQUIPMENT

Heavy-Duty
Slitting Line

Engineered for high-volume processing centers and steel mills, this Heavy-Duty Slitting Line delivers distinct precision and power. It is designed to process wide coils (up to 2000mm) of varying densities and tensile strengths, ranging from soft metals like Copper and Brass to high-strength Stainless Steel (SS) and Mild Steel (MS).

With a tailor-made design, this line ensures minimal downtime for coil changeovers, maximizing throughput for heavy industrial applications. The system prioritizes burr-free slit edges, tight winding tolerances, and scratch-free surface handling for sensitive materials like GI and coated steels.

KEY ADVANTAGES

Key Features & Advantages

Broad Thickness Versatility

Capable of handling delicate 0.3mm foils and robust 6.0mm plates on the same line without compromising edge quality.

Surface Protection

Equipped with specialized PU-coated rolls and synchronized drives to prevent scratches on sensitive materials like Copper, Brass, and GI.

High-Efficiency Slitter Head

Features an eccentric adjustment system for precise knife overlap and clearance setting, ensuring burr-free cuts and extended knife life.

Intelligent Tensioning

The exit tensioning unit utilizes pneumatic/hydraulic felt pads and separator discs to ensure tightly wound, telescopic-free baby coils, even when slitting multiple narrow strips.

Robust Structure

The entire line is mounted on a stress-relieved, heavy-duty fabricated steel base to eliminate vibration and ensure stability under the 35-ton load.

HOW IT WORKS

General Arrangements

From coil loading to off-loading, every station is optimized for speed, safety, and precision. The line is designed for high-throughput operations with minimal changeover time.

Slitting Line General Arrangement
1Entry Section (Coil Loading)
  • Entry Coil Car: V-type, hydraulic lift and traverse, capable of carrying 35 Tons.
  • Hydraulic Decoiler: Single/Double mandrel expansion. Includes a snubber roll and peel-off table to safely thread the leading edge of heavy gauge (6mm) coils.
2Levelling & Preparation
  • Pinch Roll & 5-Roll Leveller: Removes coil set (curvature) from the strip to ensure flat entry into the slitter, crucial for thicker (6mm) materials.
  • Entry Loop Pit: Provides buffer material to synchronize the speed between the decoiler and the slitter head.
3Slitting Section
  • Side Guides: Centre the strip before it enters the knives.
  • Slitter Head: The heart of the machine. Heavy-duty arbors housing the rotary knives and spacers.
  • Dual Scrap Winders: Located on both sides to automatically wind up the edge trim waste.
4Exit Section (Tension & Recoiling)
  • Exit Loop Pit: Accommodates different lengths of slit strands due to crown/thickness variation across the strip width.
  • Tension Unit: Provides necessary back-tension against the recoiler. Features felt pad brakes and separator shafts.
  • Exit Shear: Hydraulic guillotine to cut the tails of the processed coils.
  • Hydraulic Recoiler: Powerful motor and gearbox (with Overarm Separator) to pull the strip through the tensioner and wind the slit coils.
5Off-Loading
  • Exit Coil Car: Hydraulic car to remove the slit coils (baby coils) from the recoiler drum.
  • Turnstile (Optional): For temporary storage of slit coils before packaging.
